Message from the 74th WPDC Program Chair

Greetings from the Great White North!

We’re excited to announce that the 74th WPDC will be held in the slightly cold, tremendously vibrant city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada! Join us from April 6 to 9, 2025, as we come together to explore the latest in poultry medicine during the ACPV workshop and our scientific conference.

This year’s conference theme is: "From the lab to the farm: Bridging the gap between research and the real-world struggles in poultry medicine", where we will focus on the critical transition from academic research to practical application in the poultry industry.

This year, our goal is to have open-minded and insightful discussions with experts to explore how to effectively implement cutting-edge research that translates into actionable strategies in the field. Join us as we work together to strengthen the connection between research and practice and enhance the effectiveness of our interventions in the industry.

We invite veterinary students, residents, graduate students, new poultry veterinarians, and anyone involved in the poultry industry to participate. Your insights and experiences will enrich our discussions and make this event even more valuable. All students are eligible to participate in a thrilling competition that not only enhances your CV, but also offers a monetary prize to the winners!

To present, please submit a title and a 150-word abstract of your proposed presentation at the wpdcfoundation.org website. We’ll select oral and poster presentations from the submissions, which will be included in the 74th Annual WPDC Proceedings. Detailed instructions for the complete manuscript submission will be provided to those who are accepted.

As program chair for the 74th Annual WPDC, I’m thrilled to welcome you to Calgary! Be sure to pack a toque and a scarf – or maybe even a bathing suit – because you never know how Spring will treat us in Alberta. I can’t wait to see you there!
